Course Description
This course demonstrated ways in which AAC devices can be used to target functional conversation and LPAA goals. Participants will be instructed on how to create conversation pages on AAC devices that are specific to a client’s needs and interests. Participants will also learn about the importance of stories and their relationship to identity and how AAC device can be customized for clients.

After completing this course, participants will be able to:​
  • State three types of benefits patients can receive from high-tech AAC
  • Identify appropriate candidates for Lingraphica AAC devices
  • Describe how the Life Participation Approach can be used as a tool for AAC personalization
  • Complete basic programming functions on a Lingraphica AAC device, including adding and deleting
 

Time-Ordered Agenda

  • 15 minutes: Customizing AAC Devices and LPAA Goals
  • 20 minutes: Importance of Storytelling and Identity
  • 15 minutes: High-tech AAC to Support Storytelling
  • 10 minutes: Questions and Answers

 

Course Completion Requirements 

  1. Attendance and/or Completion of Online Lecture
  2. Completion of Learning Assessment with a minimum score of 70%
  3. Completion of an Activity Evaluation
