- Perform the basic operations of Lingraphica SGDs that are used in working clinically with PWAs.
- Demonstrate screening procedure for determining patient appropriateness for using a Lingraphica SGD.
- Identify their patient’s life participation goals and customize the SGD to support attainment of those goals.
- Educate their patient’s primary communication partners on device function and use.
- Use clinical examples and other support materials supplied with a Lingraphica SGD to help formulate intervention plans, implementation strategies, and associated rehabilitation and life participation goals.
- Develop competence in implementing the communication and treatment functions of a Lingraphica SGD.
- Correctly identify the basic Medicare or other insurance requirements for prescribing an SGD for a patient with moderate-severe expressive communication disorder.
- 1 hour: Orientation to the Lingraphica SGD Operations
- 2 hours: Identifying Appropriate Patients and Establishing Goals
- 2 hours: Communication Functions
- 2 hours: Therapeutic Alternatives
- 1 hour: SLP Responsibilities
Course Completion Requirements
- Attendance and/or Completion of Online Lecture
- Completion of Learning Assessment with a minimum score of 70%
