Course Description
This course focused on the SLP's role in return-to-work goals for adults with acquired communication disorders. We addressed motivations, barriers, and resources that may impact the support individuals with these goals received from their rehab team. We discussed work re-entry, alternative options, and provided AAC device examples for clinical and personal use to improve quality of life.

  • 10 minutes: The SLP’s Role and Resources
  • 15 minutes: Examples and Case Studies addressing Return-to-Work Goals through AAC
  • 10 minutes: Conclusion and Q&A

 

Instructional Personnel 

 

Sami Wong M.S., CCC-SLP, MBA  

Sami is a speech-language pathologist in Washington and joined Lingraphica in 2022. She received her bachelor’s in media, Culture, and Communication from New York University, her Master’s in Business Administration from Quantic School of Business and Technology, and her master’s in Speech-Language Pathology from Pacific University. She is currently pursuing her Ph.D. in Education and Leadership from Pacific University. Sami has experience providing clinical services to adults across acute care, skilled nursing, and outpatient rehab settings, and she is passionate about working with individuals with aphasia.
