Course Description
This course reviewed research on AAC in the autistic population and how features of a Lingraphica AAC device may meet their needs. Characteristics of good candidates were reviewed, including how to identify when Lingraphica is not the most appropriate choice. The course examined programming tips, implementation, sensory differences, and stimming. It also addressed neurodiversity-affirming care.

Disclaimer: This course is focused on Lingraphica high-tech AAC devices. Although much information will apply to general AAC considerations, limited information about other manufacturers will be provided.

Sara holds a Bachelors in Communication Disorders from Butler University and a Master's in Speech Pathology from Purdue University.
