This course reviewed the research that supports the provision of activities that infuse the principles of neuroplasticity and demonstrated how the implementation of AT can be utilized to maximize experience-dependent neuroplasticity, from the perspectives of a stroke survivor and aphasia advocate, Dr. Thomas Broussard, and an SLP, Faye Stillman.

Faye Stillman, MS, CC-SLP/ATP
Faye Stillman joined Lingraphica in January of 2014, as a Clinical Consultant, and is currently serving in the role of CEU Manager. She is an ASHA certified, and Florida licensed Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP), and a RESNA Certified Assistive TechnologyProfessional (ATP). She has authored three books, presented multiple times at ASHA and ATIA, and is an experienced clinician, clinical instructor, CFY supervisor, speech therapy discipline leader and therapy team leader. Faye graduated from the Universityof North Texas and Texas Woman’s University with BA and MS degrees in speech-language pathology, respectively.

Thomas G.Broussard, Jr., PhD
Thomas G. Broussard, Jr., Ph.D. and his company, Stroke Educator, Inc., is conducting a national “Aphasia Awareness” campaign dedicated to educating people about stroke and aphasia. He has spoken at over 150 presentations and 23 states to date. He has presented at the ASHA National Convention, the Aphasia Access Leadership Conference and at various state and local stroke and aphasia organizations.
Dr. Broussard was Associate Dean, Admissions & Career Services at The Heller School at Brandeis University until his first stroke in 2011. He wrote Stroke Diary, A Primer for Aphasia Therapy, Vol I (2015), Stroke Diary, The Secret of Aphasia Recovery, Vol II (2016) and Stroke Diary, Just So Stories, How Aphasia Got Its Language Back (Vol III) (2018).
He was a U.S. Naval Academy graduate, a naval officer, naval shipbuilder, and a business owner in career development and training. He received his Ph.D. at The Heller School at Brandeis University, Waltham, MA. His work focused on helping people with disability get work. He was recently appointed as an American Heart Association (AHA) Heart Valve Disease Ambassador for 2018-2019 term.
