This course discussed AAC considerations for different diagnoses including evaluation for AAC, future AAC needs, and features that could be useful.

  2. Recognize two AAC features important for dysarthria 
  3. Identify one way AAC can support auditory comprehension
  4. Identify one diagnosis for which a weighted stylus might be beneficial

Time-Ordered Agenda
  • 5 minutes: Welcome, Introductions, and Disclosures 
  • 5 minutes: Evaluation considerations for differential diagnoses  
  • 15 minutes: AAC for dysarthria 
  • 15 minutes: AAC for apraxia 
  • 15 minutes: AAC for cognitive linguistic disorders 
  • 5 minutes: Wrap-Up and Questions

Beth McHose, MS Ed, CCC-SLP    

 Beth joined Lingraphica in 2018. She has experience providing speech and language services for the adult population in the acute, rehab, and home health settings. Beth holds a bachelors in English from Virginia Tech and a Master’s in Communication Sciences and Disorders from Old Dominion University.
