Course Description
This course explored how a multidisciplinary team is beneficial to successful AAC implementation. It provided a description of the areas of expertise for members of the team and ideas for use within that discipline.
Learning Objectives
Participants will be able to:
Recall the definition of AAC
Define areas of AAC implementation that may be best suited for Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy and Speech Language Pathology
Identify accessories to the device that will enable clients with physical barriers to access the device
Identify successful use of the device
Recognize one way Occupational and Physical Therapists can use an AAC device to further their discipline’s goals

Teresa Thompson, MA, CCC-SLP
Teresa joined Lingraphica in 2020. She has more than 12 years of experience in speech-language pathology and has worked as a speech-language pathologist with adults in the acute care, outpatient, skilled nursing and home health settings. Teresa earned her BSBA from the University of Denver and her Masters of Arts in Speech-Language Pathology from Northwestern University.
