Participants will be able to:

  • Recall the definition of AAC

  • Define areas of AAC implementation that may be best suited for Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy and Speech Language Pathology

  • Identify accessories to the device that will enable clients with physical barriers to access the device

  • Identify successful use of the device

  • Recognize one way Occupational and Physical Therapists can use an AAC device to further their discipline’s goals

Beth joined Lingraphica in 2018. She has experience providing speech and language services for the adult population in the acute, rehab, and home health settings. Beth holds a bachelors in English from Virginia Tech and a Master’s in Communication Sciences and disorders from Old Dominion University.

Mandi Wolf Ogaard, MA OTR/L 

Ms. Ogaard has over 20 years’ experience in occupational therapy clinical practice and over 6 years experience in academia in educating future Occupational Therapy practitioners. She has clinical expertise working with the adult and geriatric populations with musculoskeletal and neurological conditions, with expertise in neurorehabilitation and low vision rehabilitation across multiple practice settings including skilled nursing rehabilitation, acute care, outpatient therapy, and home health. At present, she is pursuing her Doctor of Behavioral Health with a focus on Integrated Primary Care 

practice, in the prevention and management of chronic disease. Ms. Ogaard’s responsibility as the Occupational Therapist team member is to review CEU content to ensure the inclusion of evidence based educational material consistent with the practice of occupational therapy, thereby supporting the mission of Lingraphica to provide the opportunity for clients to reconnect with friends and family and live their best lives.
